About Files
Danalix files system allows you to host various types documents including those associated with your clients. You are able to upload documents and host them to our cloud environment. You can create folders to organize the various documents you upload.
• You are able to upload files here, and all documents that you upload using other functions such as Matters or Clients are also displayed under the file function.
• Documents are organized by Folders then by Files.
• If you have a large library of files, you can easily find a particular file by using the search feature.
• You have the ability to create new file folders and have more than one level of folder.
• You can delete both folders and files.
Who can use the files system
Anyone who has access to Danalix platform is able to access the files system.
How to create a file folder for documents
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > on the screen listed with all the files, click the add folder icon on the upper right corner > name the folder in the “create a folder” window > select the Client and Matter > in the “Upload File” window, upload your file.
How to Upload documents
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > Click the upload icon > on the Upload File popup window, select the Client, Matter, and upload the file.
Note: You are able to upload only one file at a time.
Uploading files via other functions
Client and Matter file uploading
When you upload a document via the Client and Matter functions, a folder will automatically be created and labelled with the name of the Client. Any files uploaded at that time (example, files for client verification or identification) will also be placed in a folder automatically created for that client.
File types you can upload
You are able to upload the following file types: docs, excel, videos (mp4), pdf, images (png, jpeg, jpg, gif, svg). At this time there is no file size limit.
Who has access to upload files
Your uploaded files are housed on Danalix cloud system and no one except you has access to the files uploaded.
The only exception is when you upload a document and choose to share it with a client. Nevertheless, the client just receives a copy of what is uploaded. They do not have access to your specific file.
Sharing documents
The option to share a document can be done when uploading a file.
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > Click the upload icon > on the Upload File popup window, check “share to client”
How to Delete a file folder
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > locate the folder to delete > right-click on the folder > click Delete.

Files sidebar menu > locate the folder > locate the file > right-click on the file > select Delete.
How to Move a file from one folder to another folder
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > locate the folder > locate the file > right-click on the file > select “Move To” from the menu > select the “Move To” folder from menu of folders.
Helpful Tips:
If you accidentally move a file to the wrong folder, follow the mentioned steps to move it to the correct folder.
How to Copy a file from one folder to another folder
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > locate the folder > locate the file > right-click on the file > select “Copy To” from the menu > select the “Copy To” folder from the menu of folders.
Helpful Tips:
If you accidentally copy a file to the wrong folder, first delete it from the destination folder, then follow the mentioned steps to move it to the correct folder. When you copy a file, the original file remains in the original folder and a copy of the file is placed in the destination folder.
How to Download a file
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > locate the folder > locate the file > right-click on the file > select “Download” from the right-click menu.
How are files organized
Files are organized by Client folder, then by files and/or other folders. For example: Client folder/files; or Client folder /Other folders/files.
Search for a file
Go to:
Files sidebar menu > on the files summary screen, enter your search term within the search bar.
