Matter Conflict Check

Conduct Conflict Check for a Matter



To conduct a conflict check, go to:

Step 1

Clients & Matters sidebar menu > Matters tab > find the name of the Matter > Actions menu > Conduct Conflict Check

| Helpful Tips:
If you have not conducted a conflict check, you will notice a red exclamation icon under the Actions menu for that Matter.

Step 2

On the “View Conflict Check Results” popup window, click the “Conduct New Conflict Check” button.



When you click the “Conduct New Conflict Check” button, you will be presented with a screen to “View Conflict Check Results.”



When you click the “View Conflict Check Results” button, you will be presented with a screen that shows you whether there is a conflict or not.

Step 3a

If there are no conflict(s), you’ll get a screen resembling the one below indicating that “no conflict is detected.”



Step 3b

If there are potential conflict(s), you’ll get a screen resembling the one below asking you to “Resolve Conflict.”



When you click “Resolve Conflict,” you’ll get a pop-up window that allows you to “add notes” about the conflict.

If you choose not to add matter notes and save, you’ll next receive the next receive the “Client Conflict Search” screen requesting you to take the following actions:

Resolve/Admit the conflict
Unresolved/Reject the conflict



Step 6

Unresolved/Reject the conflict

If you think the conflict is not resolvable and want to reject it, you will get a screen to “View Conflict Check Results.”

Actions required on this screen are to:

Conduct a New Conflict Check

View the original conflicts detected.



Step 6a

View the original conflicts detected

If you “View the original conflicts detected” you get the “Client Conflict Search” screen to view the conflicted detected giving the another change to either:

Resolve/Admit the conflict

Unresolved/Reject the conflict



Step 6b

Conduct a New Conflict Check

If you “Conduct a New Conflict Check” you receive a screen to “View Conflict Check Results”



If you select the “View the Conflict Check Results” button again at this point, it will take you back to the Conflict Search Results screen.

Helpful Tips: On the Matter Summary screen, under the Matter for which you have conducted a conflict check, you will notice the red exclamation icon under the Actions menu is removed and the menu link is now called “View Conflict Check”

How to View Conflict Check



Go to:

Clients & Matters sidebar menu > Matters tab > find the name of the Matter > Actions menu > View Conflict Check.

About Matter Summary



This feature allows you to view a list all Matters created as Trust and their status of: Open, Pending, and Closed. You are able to view the detailed information of individual Matter and filter Matter by Client from the list of available Matter.

You are not able to edit a Matter using this feature. To edit a Matter, use the Matter function located under the Clients & Matters sidebar menu.
