Time Tracker

About Time Tracker

The Time Tracker is an alternative option to create Specific Time Entry activity. It gives you the ability to track your billing time in hours, minutes and seconds.

You also have the flexibility to start the time tracker and simultaneously use other features within Danalix without interrupting the time tracker timer.

Who Can Use Time Tracker

Anyone who has access to Danalix platform is able to access the Time Tracker feature.

How to Access and Use the Time Tracker

This feature is accessible from the upper right corner within Danalix regardless of where you are within the application.

To start the timer, click on the timer button. The timer will begin to count in seconds, minutes, then eventually hours. While the timer timing is advancing forward, you can multitask using any other feathers within the application without interrupting the timer.

To stop the timer, click on the timer while it is counting up the time.

When you click the timer to stop it, a Specific Time Entry screen will display where you can enter all the necessary activity information.See the section on how to create a specific time entry activity.

Tentative and Permanent Specific Time Entry Activity

You can make the specific time entry activity a “tentative or permanent calendar entry.”
When a specific time entry activity is tentative, you “cannot validate” it until you change its status to “permanent.”

How to Make a Specific Time Entry Tentative or Permanent

On the “Create Specific Time Entry” screen, you make a specific time entry activity tentative by applying a checkmark to the checkbox that reads: “Tick this box to make this a Tentative Calendar entry.”

Once you make an activity tentative, it is listed in the following locations:

Activities & Billing sidebar menu > Activities tab > Tentative or Permanent Activities sub-tab.
Calendar sidebar menu > Calendar date for which the activity was created.

Creating Multiple Tentative Activities with Same Dates and Times

You are able to create as many tentative activities with the same start date, end date, start time, and end time without conflicts. In other words, a tentative activity with the same timings as another tentative activity will not cause a calendar conflict.

Creating a Permanent Activity with Same Dates and Times as Another Permanent Activity

You cannot have more than one activity with the same start date, end date, start time, and end time without this creating an activity conflict.

If you want to have both activities with the same date and time information, you have to make one of them tentative.

Permanent and Tentative Specific Time Entry Activity Rules

Permanent Activity
You are able to validate an activity if it is permanent.
If you create a permanent activity and it conflicts with an already created tentative activity relative to having the start and end dates/times, the permanent activity takes precedent, this is not deemed a conflict, and both activities will be displayed in the calendar of activities.
If you create a permanent activity and it conflicts with an already created permanent activity relative to having the same the start and end dates/times, the first created permanent activity will be converted to a tentative activity in order to resolve the conflict. Nevertheless, both activities will be displayed in the calendar of activities.

Tentative Activity
You are not able to validate an activity if it is tentative.
If you create a tentative activity and it conflicts with an already created tentative activity relative to having the same start and end dates/times, both activities will overlapped in date and time within the calendar of activities without being deemed a conflict.

If you create a tentative activity and it conflicts with an already created permanent activity relative to having same the start and end dates/times, the permanent activity takes precedent, it is not reflected as a conflict, and both activities will be displayed in the calendar of activities.
